Monaco Show 2014 Report
The show started for us on Tuesday the 23rd with AGM of the AYSS, this was attended by 25 members followed by lunch at the Marriott. Good discussions were had and numerous ideas for extending the coverage of the organisation.
Monaco-net followed in the afternoon with the opportunity for captains and other industry leaders to meet the agent companies and discuss business in the different regions.
The show officially started Wednesday morning with a very good turn out. It was the 2nd year we have had the NZ street with a stand out, green foliage roof, this was very well attended and received. The Thursday night drinks at NZ street was a great success and lots of “drinking” business going on. The attendance of the Fiji tourist board with two Fijian Warriors and a kava bowl really created some interest with the visiting media not to mention those that like to drink it!
Destination NZ and NZT had a stand for the 2nd year, a very good draw card for people wanting information on the area, it was well attended and we hope to see it repeated annually.
The show was full with at least 15 large yachts anchored off, the new Monaco yacht club was in full action with numerous parties going on. The business interest was high and all the brokerage houses reported good positive inquires for sales and charter.
