Destination NZ: A 7 day Itinerary

Day 1.

Embark at Auckland’s downtown marina and depart for a 1-hour cruise to Waiheke Island. Indulge in the relaxed lifestyle of Waiheke, which is a haven filled with award-winning wineries, pristine white sand beaches and otherworldly landscapes.

Day 2.

Depart after breakfast for Kawau Island, home to an old mining settlement and the historic Mansion House. Hop off the yacht for the day to explore the historic copper mine or trek the Island on foot.

Day 3.

Enjoy a morning cruise across the edge of the gulf to Great Barrier Island. With a small population, the island has an untouched beauty that is alluring. Spend your day on the different walking tracks surrounded by Kauri forest, or find yourself by the coastline in a kayak discovering stunning coves.

Day 4.

Arrive at breakfast after an overnight passage to the Cavalli Islands in the far north of New Zealand. This is the final resting place of the Greenpeace Vessel, the Rainbow Warrior, which was bombed in 1985 by the French Secret Service. The wreck is now recognised as one of Northland's best dive sites.

Day 5.

Since the earliest overseas visitors, superlatives have been used to describe the harbour. Whangaroa is a large harbour in which there is a multitude of sheltered bays, with towering volcanic rock outcrops and Idyllic sandy beaches. Spend the day exploring this incredibly picturesque harbour.

Day 6.

After your evening stay in Whangaroa, head towards the Bay of Islands. Lovers of history and adventure will find a deep fondness for the Bay. Due to its sheltered waters, the Bay is great for water activities and has an abundance of marine life.

Day 7.

On your final morning, head to Paihia after breakfast to maximise your time. Paihia’s rich culture is evident. Visit the Maritime museum or the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. In the afternoon, disembark the vessel for your helicopter back to Auckland.
